In 1992, David Gant became trapped inside Tennessee's Nickajack Cave with his scuba air running out and only a tiny pocket of air keeping him alive. The water level dropped, giving Gant more air space and rescuers a better chance of reaching him. After roughly 16 hours underground, rescuers finally heard his voice. He was alive.
